Hi everyone,

My mom, Jolyne, is helping me write to you about my health. Cedric

Many of you have known me thanks to the Tree of Hope Campaign. For those who don’t know me, my name is Cédric. I am from Memramcook, and have been fighting lymphoblastic leukemia since 2014.

Last year, I was too sick to make it to the Tree of Hope Radiothon. I want to tell you that I am doing better now and I’m really excited to be part of the Tree of Hope Campaign this year. It’s pretty cool to be on the posters! Thanks everyone for all your help!

Some of my friends ask me questions about cancer. Some have said you can die when you have cancer. But my parents have explained to me that through campaigns like the Tree of Hope, we can improve cancer research and care to fight the disease.

January 2017 was pretty tough for me. I had to stay in hospital for two weeks because my immune system was very weak. I missed a lot of school, and I had to wear a mask to hockey tournaments.

Since that time, I am doing much better. I love school and hockey. I want to say a BIG THANK YOU for supporting the Tree of Hope Campaign. I also want to say thank you to the medical staff who have taken such good care of me. They are all so nice, except when they give me needles! But I understand that they have to give me needles to help me get better. Besides, I really love getting juice and cookies when I go to the Oncology Centre!

I ask you to please support the Tree of Hope Campaign. It really makes a big difference! I think we’re stronger together. Together, we can beat cancer!
